Arusha National Park

Covering an area of 137 Square km, Arusha National Park is a pearl of diverse ecosystems and the stunning views of Mt. Meru, the crater that gives the region its name.

Walking safaris are permitted here due to the low numbers of predators in the park. This is a must visiting destination for anyone who wants a closer look at the moss covered trees as well as for those wanting to get up close to wildlife. Most common wildlife sightings whilst on a walking safari include African elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, warthogs and a variety of birds such as the silvery cheeked-hornbill, little bee-eater and the occasional long crested-eagle. The walk takes the visitors to the refreshing beautiful Tululusia waterfalls and back to the Momella gate.

On the way towards the Momella Lakes, visitors can see waterbucks and reedbucks love to hang around the lake shore. A wide array of water birds like cormorants, kingfishers and beautiful flamingos are also often spotted.

It is a well-liked destination for day-trippers as it offers spectacular views of nature which includes the slopes, ash cones of Mt. Meru, , the Ngurdoto Crater, the Momela Lakes and the lush highland forests.
