Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge itself is an architectural marvel built on the rim of the collapsed volcano that boasts the most magnificent views over the crater floor. Spend a quiet afternoon looking down into the crater and you will see vast herds of buffalo, wildebeest and zebra, the rare and endangered black rhino, mighty bull elephant, cheetah, leopard, lion, and herds of gazelle and hartebeest. If you want to get a closer look, take a trip down to the crater floor which is a short drive from the lodge.

The Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge is built onto the rim of the amazing natural phenomenon of the crater. Ngorongoro Serena Safari lodge is a stunning plant covered stone lodge where guests co-exist in perfect harmony with the surrounding natural environment and wildlife. Close to some of the earliest human dwellings in Olduvai Gorge, the lodge has taken cave paintings as inspiration. Built of stones and boulders, it is literally hidden in the vegetation of the crater’s rim, disappearing completely from view from the crater floor. The interiors of the lodge are filled with exquisite wooden furniture, African artifacts, and stunning frescoes adorning the walls. All bedrooms have private terraces with uninterrupted views across the grasslands, forests, lakes, and rivers that make up the crater floor.

Ndutu Safari Lodge
Ndutu Safari Lodge is situated in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in the southern Serengeti eco-system. The Lodge nestles unobtrusively under a canopy of giant acacias overlooking Lake Ndutu. The lodge offers a superb base in which to explore the range of habitats that lie easily within reach including, swamps, woodlands, soda lakes, and the world famous Serengeti short grass plains. The lodge consists of 34 stone cottages that extend from the central, open-sided bar, lounge, and dining room. Each room is made from local materials and has its own veranda overlooking Lake Ndutu. Ndutu Safari Lodge has been a favorite spot with professional wildlife photographers and film-makers for the past four decades because it offers unprecedented opportunities for game viewing.
